Closer...
For some damn reason, a killdeer laid her eggs in the pea-rock of our playground. Every time we go near it, she flops around on the ground like this.
Well, after keeping the kids away for nearly a month, the babies finally hatched 2 days ago. This morning, they were gone, and the nest was covered up. It must be stressful to be a ground bird.

They have been doing that in our hood too...it's interesting to see their nests in the yards that have dogs! Stupid-idiotic birds!
