He touched 40 on the finish with a lead out. That is 64.5 kph. That is about a 11.1 if you can average that for an entire 200 meters.
When Bob leads out several riders at Blaine can go 11.0 or under. Too bad Cavendish has to ride 5 hours first before he gets to sprint. From my personal experiance, 5 hours takes nothing out of your legs.
Maybe Cavendish needs to come to Blaine for some schooling.

There was a head wind on the finishing stretch yesterday. I think 5 hours at the pace they rode would take something out of your legs.

I'll try to dig up some results, but I distinctly remember seeing somewhere that Cav rides about a 10.9 in the flying 200m on the track...
