F'ing DMV

So apparently I don't have my motorcycle license. Here's why.

I took the motorcycle course when I was 16. I passed my written and road tests, and received my endorsement. Cool.

When I turned 21, I had to renew my license. The half-wit who entered my info into the computer system failed to include my motorcycle endorsement. Of course, I didn't double-check when I got my new license. I just assumed it had all gone to plan. FAIL.

It was finally brought to my attention a few years later, when I was stuck in the hell-hole that is Kenosha, WI and tried to rent a Harley for the weekend.

Guy: "I can't rent to you, you don't have a motorcycle endorsement."
me: "The hell I don't! It's right...uh...um...shit."

Yeah.

So I go back to the DMV and I'm told that there's only a 1-year reclamation period, and I would have to re-take my test. I tried to explain that this was their fault to begin with, but they weren't havin' it. I got pissed off and was "escorted" from the premises.

Last Spring, I finally caved in and paid the $21 to re-take the written permit test. I easily passed what turned out the be a test designed for retards (True or False: You should ride your motorcycle in the ditch if there's a crosswind), and went on my merry way.

I tried to schedule the road test, but EVERY SINGLE appointment for the entire summer was filled (all surrounding areas were booked up as well). I was informed that I'd have to take it the following Spring, so that's just what I did.

When I showed up to take the road test last week, they told me that the location had been moved to the other side of town, and I'd better hurry or I'd be late. Thanks for the advanced notice, dick.

When I finally got there, I was informed that my permit had expired, and I'd have to take the f'ing permit test again! OMFG. I explained to the guy that there were no times available to take the test in the 13 months since I'd gotten my permit. Not his problem, apparently.

So I got to spend yet ANOTHER $21 to take the written test, and I'm still trying to get the damn road test scheduled.

I have a feeling this is not the end of this story...
