Hurts So Good

I'm the only person I know who looks forward to DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness). I am smitten with it. I am enamored with it. If I'm not sore for 2-3 days after a hard gym workout, I feel like I didn't push myself hard enough.

I love being sore from a hard workout. It reminds me how hard I worked. It makes me feel like I accomplished something. It...uh...makes me walk funny (stupid squats).

I've been back to lifting for just over a week now, and my whole body is on fire: shoulders, chest, back, triceps, abs, hamstrings...all killing me! What a glorious feeling!

Now that I've starting eating right and lifting again, I've put a couple pounds back on, which is comforting. I felt like I was shriveling up like a supermodel!

How can u Squat or Deadlift already? Will you be racing in 2009?

I can't. The closest I can do right now is stiff-leg deadlifts.

Whether or not I race this year depends on when I'm able to actually train again and how quickly my form comes back.

I won't race if I'll just be a pud.

Do not be pud and hit the track. I have seen racers do that. It is sad and very dangerous.

Are you logging some miles on the road? Not training just riding? Some call them junk miles but right now, they could be gold for you.

10-15 minutes at a crack on the ergo. Hoping to get out on the road this week if it ever stops raining...

Good luck. It seems your absence has all the sprinter hanging their heads. Nothing to shoot for. Skinny roadie kicking everyones ass. That alone should pull Gold Member out. The shame of it all.

Where is the ultra dark one when you need him? Oh, he keeps getting third behind roadies.

You need to race if nothing else to save the Dark One for this continued decent into the veteran racers void.

Why am I racing? Why am I here? Why is a skinny roadie beating me at my own game?

All props to Crosby. He is fast and light as a flea. Still, a sprinter should be able to take him in a sprint. Nobody up in this house should be calling themselves a sprinter save for Crosby. Crosby is the fastest track sprinter in Minnesota right now.

Go Diego go.

I thought at Radius Brian did an 11.4 with a madison throw in. Then some old guy did an 11.2 off a lead out. I believe this would be the same outcome on a standing 250 as well.

ted, must we remind you that he waxed you in a KOS sprint the next week?

3 laps is NOT a sprint.

How many laps is a match sprint? Is that also "not a sprint"?

Crosby is not scared. He says bring it on old man. The flying 200 may not be the indicator you are expecting. It tells a bit of the story but now all of the story.

You still have to race the super model body Crosby in a 3 lap match race.

With any luck, he will slip between some cracks in the track and then you have the Taint and Blackie to contend with.

And Hans if he can make it.

And Goldy if he peels away from the Mario Cart Wii and actually competes after 5 years off. Perhaps that is enough time to slow him down enough to race locally again.

What's the matter Colonel Sanders...

Chicken?

Sure looks like it.
