So I'm In The Hospital

I crashed last night at Madison practice when DGC slid down the track in front of me and I had nowhere to go.

I slammed onto my hip and also cracked my helmet, but was able to walk to the car after about 10 minutes. On the way home my hip started swelling up and getting really tight.

I had to basically crawl into the house and prop myself up on the couch. When I was unable to get up after trying for over an hour, my wife called Franz and Mrs. Franz to come help get me out to the car to go to the hospital. Getting out and into the car was the most excruciating moment of my life. The pain was so bad that I nearly passed out several times. My hip is swollen out about 4 inches. It's freaky gross.

The doctor just came in and told me that the hip isn't broken, but there's severe soft tissue trauma and I'm looking at about a 3-month recovery period and a couple weeks on crutches. Guess I'll need to find a new hobby!

The doctor actually said "it'll be about 3 months before you feel like jogging. ". That's funny because I NEVER feel like jogging.

They wanted to discharge me, but I kept getting dizzy and almost passing out, so they ordered an MRI and I'm spending the night.

Now it's sleepy time.

Ugh. My new hobby apparently is to be the human bowling ball. I may need a new hobby, too. Yikes. I'm so sorry, Taylor. This was effectively identical to Ted's crash in '07, and part of the injustice is that, splinters etc. aside, I wound up OK. Just like with Ted, the guy holding his line and doing things right at the bottom of the track gets hammered, and the human bowling ball who hits him is basically fine. Same as Crosby's partner's crash at Madison Nat's in 2007. Anyhow.

I'm so sorry man.

Look at the bright side, not all of your soft tissue was traumatized.

I'm with timmer on this one. You're tough as nails. But in the mean time take it easy!

I guess now you can sit around and catch up on all the trashy TV you want!

Take care!

Look at the bright side. You wont be burned out by the time Nationals rolls around!

Story would have been better if they had taken you to a mob doctor but what the hell...

Heal up fast and try not to turn into a doughboy.

Much love from the Wroblewski's

I have two photos of the alien hemotoma. I have them emailed to Taylor so he can post them later. The one looks like his thigh is 9 months pregnant.

What are you, glass? Speedfix Racing will not tolerate this sort of thing. All we care about is results. No sympathy. You have 2 weeks to post a sub-11.5 sec flying 200, or you can consider yourself cut.

Heal up quickly. Or else find a new team.

As of noon today Taylor is still in the hospital. He is eating but said he still feel faint when he sits up. I have not more news than that. Will keep everyone posted.
