If you want to attach the straps permanently, try this
I'll likely only use straps for standing starts and match sprints, so I'll be using zip-ties. If you look at the side profile of the pedal, it dips down right before the retention mechanism. That's where you attach the straps with zip-ties.
I haven't actually tried either of these, but I know others who have had luck with them.
For what it's worth, I ran the old D/A pedals all year last year and never pulled out once.
OK I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN ALL THE COMMENTS. NOT ONE OF YOU SUPPOSED BIKE FANS NOTICED TAYLOR INSTALLED HIS CHAIN UPSIDE DOWN.
I emailed Taylor to inform him of his obvious cat 4 infraction. A legitiamate cat 2 would never be caught dead installing a chain upside down and then posting it on his blog. On the second hand he may testing us.
It's OK if Tiemeyer is your thing. But carbon bars and a carbon fork/steerer - for someone who doesn't trust carbon...that will be in your head!!! Now, speaking of seats, what you really wanted is a Rolls Due like this-http://www.cyclingnews.com/tech.php?id=/photos/2006/tech/features/meares_bt_stealth/img_1630. Although, given the tandem, and the way you and Franz have matching bikes(how cute), this might be more your style: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NOS-Pink-Leather-Rolls-Saddle-Road-Track-Fixed-Vintage_W0QQitemZ310000908014QQihZ021QQcategoryZ22693QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting

Nice tri bike. Who's going to ride it to make it the fastest in Minnesota?
Me if I could reach the pedals
Reminds me of a SR71 for some reason. I like the red head-set, nice touch.
Little D
Finally a picture that shows the true color. I like it.
Mine is going to be way faster!

I hadn't adjusted the saddle yet. I was too concerned with posting pictures!
I'll be using the pedals with straps, so hopefully they'll be OK. They better be, they're expensive as shit.
Is that Tainters new bike?
Curious - I am running the new DA pedals next year. How are you attaching a strap?
There are a couple ways to do it.
